About the Artist

Being an artist is a balance between a passion for art and technical skill. Mary developed her skill through her education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design with a concentration in Studio Art. She minored in Media Arts, Society, and Technology which focused on the study, social impact, and creation of film. Her passion has been a life-long development. Although her chosen career pursuit has evolved over time, art has always been at the center of it. She is happiest when creating.

Mary has experience working as Lead Designer for REV Events, an Orange County based event planning company. In this position she created lasting memories for clients by conceptualizing and producing decor, invitations, and more for their important life events.

It’s not clutter, it’s my process.

I collect things that inspire me, and I will forever have far too many things than I know what to do with. I surround myself with anything that makes me feel the creative spark, plastering my walls with posters and postcards, lining my bookshelves with not just books but also knickknacks and baskets of art supplies. Even my furniture I build or customize myself to feed my creative spirit. My collection habit can be overwhelming, but it plays a part in every project.

There’s a method to the chaos in my studio. Organized chaos. At my most productive, every surface is covered with tools, sketches, and works in progress. To the untrained eye, it may appear to be a mess, but to me, it’s the perfect recipe for output.
