The Dutch House Concept Art

Concept Art and Set Design

Condensing broader work into conceptual designs is not a simple task. In Mary’s work, she seeks to find creative solutions to the concept “problem.” Here is a series of concepts that Mary developed based on books that she has read recently. Each piece has elements that reflect the themes and subjects found in the novels.

Mary has also created a series of set designs based on “The Dutch House” a novel by Ann Patchett. In this story, the house is an important theme found throughout, almost acting as a character in itself. Each location holds significance within the story, especially the Drawing Room and Maeve’s Room.
